SEASONINGS - CULINARY HERBS ARE MEDICINES - GARLIC MILK
This is an effective remedy for eliminating intestinal worms, as well as for sciatic pains. If taken over a prolonged period of time it will also cure sweaty feet. A garage mechanic who had suffered from sciatica for a considerable time, and for whom the doctor could not offer any help, was advised to drink garlic milk daily. He took the advice and within a few days the pain was greatly relieved. At the end of a fortnight it had disappeared completely.
Garlic milk may be prepared cooked or uncooked. In the raw state, uncooked, it is more potent. Cooking lessens the smell somewhat and the effect is still quite satisfactory.
To make garlic milk use a garlic press, obtainable from hardware stores, to crush the garlic. Add the pulp to uncooked milk (two raw cloves to 100 ml/3.5 fl. oz) and drink it. If you prefer, you can boil the garlic in the milk.
For the maximum effect one should drink 200 ml (half a pint) of this mixture daily. The same mixture can also be used for enemas.
Of course, not everyone reacts in the same way and not every remedy produces the same results in every person, but in the case of a bad sciatica attack, it is well worth giving this simple remedy a try. According to the individual, one of three different therapies should produce results: formic acid treatment, adjustment by a chiropractor, or garlic milk.
